A 30 year law enforcement veteran, Chief Scott Howland retired from the California Highway Patrol where he served in multiple roles including Chief of Information Management Division (IMD), Chief Information Officer (CIO), Statewide Community Outreach and Media Relations Director, Legislative Liaison, as well as multiple field assignments. As IMD Chief he was responsible for statewide radio communications, CAD, 25 communications centers, Information Technology, application development, computer crimes investigation, and Statewide traffic records.
After the CHP, Chief Howland went on to serve as Chief Product Officer for Fusus, a cloud based real time crime center platform. He was responsible for driving Fusus’ product vision, leading the product management life cycle, implementing customer feedback, collaborating with engineering and sales to establish directives, and implementing product features and design. Fusus was recently acquired by Axon and he is now a Senior Product Director in Real Time Operations.
He spent four years in the television news industry before joining the California Highway Patrol (CHP). He holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Business Administration from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Production from San Francisco State University.
